naidoc dINNER 2022

We believe in giving back where we can.

When using Native Australian produce we believe you can’t use them with out a sense of cultural sensitivity, recognition and giving something back when you can.

Winsome Matthews has become somewhat of a custodian of our business and advises on our use of native produce and hosting events in the name of NAIDOC. Just before the first lock down of COVID-19 we planned on hosting an event in which all the proceeds made from the evening would be donated to a nominated indigenous charity of Winsome’s choice.

We decided on donating to Dr. Tracey Westermen of W.A, Woman of the year, in relation to her studies on suicide prevention in indigenous youth.

Unfortunately, we all know how COVID went and our NAIDOC celebrations were postponed twice, but we eventually go there !

The much anticipated event went exceptionally well. Our in-house graphic designer worked alongside Karen Gibson of Mosmon Gorge QLD to create a series of work called “ Reflection of being complementary” which all sold and proceeds given back to the Mosmon gorge community.

This was the first NAIDOC dinner celebration with many more to come !

A special thank you to Amy Opio for facilitating all the people involved in the event and giving the acknowldgement to country on behalf of Winsome Matthews.
